How Much Does a Pizza Making Class in Naples Cost?
Pizza making classes in Naples start at about $13 per person for a three-hour pizza and tiramisu class and go up to around $123. Here's what you get as the price goes up, what every class includes and which one we'd book.
A pizza making class in Naples costs from about $13 per person for a three-hour pizza and tiramisu class in a teaching kitchen in the old centre. Classes held in a working pizzeria with a pizzaiolo usually cost between $40 and $80, and a few premium classes reach about $123. Prices are per person, and every class ends with you eating the pizza you made.
Here is what changes as the price goes up, and which class we’d book.
The main differences
- A good all-round choice: the Naples Official Pizza Making Class & Tiramisu with wood oven, from $13, rated 4.9/5 from more than 6,000 reviews.
- The cheapest classes are also the most reviewed. The two classes at $13 and $14 each have more than 1,000 reviews, more than any class above $40.
- Paying more mostly changes where you cook. Above about $40 you often cook in a working pizzeria or restaurant with its own pizzaiolo, and many of these classes are pizza only, with no dessert.
- Some of the lowest prices are sale prices. The $13, $14 and $28 classes were all listed against a crossed-out price about twice as high in early October 2026.
- Everything is priced per person. At the starting price, two people pay $26 for our pick and four pay $52.
- You make your own way there. None of the classes includes hotel pickup, and they all start from a meeting point in the city.
Why we’d start with the wood-oven class
At $13, the wood-oven pizza and tiramisu class is the cheapest pizza class in Naples, and it has by far the longest review record of any of them, with more than 6,000 reviews. It runs for three hours, takes a maximum of 12 guests and bakes the pizza in a wood-fired oven, which the similarly priced class on Via Medina does not.
It meets at the operator’s cooking school at Via delle Zite 30, near the cathedral. The same operator runs the pizza and tiramisu cooking class that we cover in our Naples pizza and tiramisu class guide, from the same address. That one also lasts three hours, with pizza, tiramisu, a drink and a limoncello tasting, but it cost $28 in early October 2026. The extra $15 gets you a Polaroid photo and a local starter in place of the bruschetta, so we’d book the $13 class unless its dates don’t suit you.
It makes most sense for first-time visitors, couples and families who want a lively class with dessert included. It is less suited to anyone who wants a quiet lesson with a pizzaiolo, because the class is built around a group of up to 12 making two dishes.
Other classes worth comparing
If you want to repeat it at home
The Naples Certified Pizza & Tiramisu Class Drink and Appetizer, from $14 and rated 4.9/5 from more than 1,100 reviews, is held at Amiro restaurant on Via Medina. Its listing says the pizza is baked in a home-style electric oven with a traditional ruoto napoletano pan, so what you learn is closer to what you can do in your own kitchen. It opens with an appetizer and a glass of prosecco or a soft drink, and the 1:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. sessions include unlimited wine.
If you’d like to cook in a working pizzeria
The Pizza Making Class with Local Pizzaiolo costs from $77 and is rated 4.8/5 from 124 reviews. It takes place at Oltre Pizzeria Democratica, a pizzeria on Via del Fiumicello, where a pizzaiolo teaches you to knead, stretch and top the dough before baking it in the wood-fired oven. You get a local starter and one drink, and no dessert is listed. For $64 more than our pick, you are paying for the pizzeria and the pizzaiolo rather than for more food.
Pizza with gelato instead of tiramisu
The Pizza and Gelato Making Class is a shorter, two-hour class from $38, rated 4.8/5 from more than 450 reviews. Wine, beer and soft drinks are included, and you make gelato for dessert.
A class with a sparkling wine tasting
The Pizza Class Italy Margherita with Pizzaiolo + Wine tasting is one of the most expensive classes in Naples, from $123, and rated 4.7/5 from 97 reviews. It runs in a restaurant kitchen before opening time, with a glass of Trento DOC sparkling wine and a fried Italian specialty alongside the Margherita you make. You pay more than nine times the price of our pick for the setting and the wine; the pizza lesson itself covers the same steps.
Other Naples Food Experiences
Pizza is only one of the things Naples teaches well. Around Spaccanapoli, Via dei Tribunali and the Centro Storico, you can also book pasta and tiramisu classes, street food walks with fried pizza and sfogliatella, and food tours through the Quartieri Spagnoli.
What does a dearer class get you?
Mostly a different kitchen. The pizza you make is much the same at every price.
Around $13 to $40: pizza with tiramisu or gelato. These classes run in a cooking school or a restaurant, last two to three hours and include a starter and a drink. Most add a dessert you make yourself. The wood-oven class at $13 is the example we’d pick.
Around $40 to $80: classes in working pizzerias. You cook in a real pizzeria, usually with its own pizzaiolo and wood-fired oven, and most of these classes are pizza only. The Neapolitan Pizza and Tiramisù Making Class, from $67 and rated 4.7/5 from more than 1,000 reviews, is one of the few in this range that includes dessert. It’s held at San Carlo 17, a trattoria and pizzeria opposite the Teatro San Carlo, where the listing mentions views of Castel Nuovo and the sea.
Above about $80: premium extras. The sparkling wine class above is the one in this range with a solid review record. The others are new listings with few or no reviews yet.
Between the $13 class and the $77 one, what changes is the room you cook in more than what you learn. Both teach you to stretch the dough by hand, top your pizza and bake it in a wood-fired oven.
What every class includes
Whatever you pay, you shape and top your own pizza and eat it at the end, and almost every class includes a drink. Extra drinks and tips are usually paid separately. Every class on the list offers free cancellation, and the booking page shows the cut-off for your date.
Classes in the old centre are easy to combine with sightseeing. The cooking school on Via delle Zite is a few minutes’ walk from the cathedral, and Via Medina and Via San Carlo are close to Piazza del Plebiscito and the port.

The table covers pizza classes held in Naples itself. Classes in Sorrento and on the Amalfi Coast, fried-pizza workshops and food tours that only stop for a slice are left out.
If you’d like a calzone or a full meal
The same operator as our pick runs an Authentic Calzone & Tiramisu Small-Group Class, from $27 and rated 5.0/5 from 71 reviews. You fold and seal a calzone, bake it in a wood-fired oven and make tiramisu. The Authentic Naples Pizza or Calzone Class, from $66 and rated 4.8/5 from 360 reviews, is held in a pizzeria and includes a glass of wine, beer or water and limoncello.
If you want more than pizza, the Traditional Italian Food Cooking Class at Restaurant costs from $37 and is rated 4.8/5 from 170 reviews. It lasts three hours, and our guide to a pizza class or a full cooking class explains how the two compare.
Classes that offer less for the price
The Pizza Class con vino a volontà costs from $54 with unlimited wine, but it is rated 3.9/5 from 34 reviews, well below the classes around it. The Authentic Neapolitan Pizza Lesson, from $72 and rated 4.4/5 from 140 reviews, lasts an hour and a half, half the time of our pick at more than five times the price.
The pizza class with unlimited wine on Piazza Amedeo, from $54 and rated 4.8/5 from 100 reviews, has tiramisu in its title, but its listing only names the pizza, wine and soft drinks as included, so check before you book if the dessert matters to you.
Several classes have only a handful of reviews: the pizza and tiramisu class with unlimited wine on Via Medina is rated 4.3/5 from just 3 reviews, and the Deluxe Pizza Making Lesson and the True Neapolitan Pizza Masterclass have no reviews yet. They may turn out well, but there is little to go on so far.
Should you pay more for a pizza class?
For most people, no. The $13 class teaches the same dough, stretching and wood-oven bake as the classes at $70 or more, and it has far more reviews behind it. Paying more makes sense if you want to cook in a working pizzeria with a pizzaiolo, if you’d like a smaller or private group, or if a glass of sparkling wine is part of the plan. If dessert matters, stay under $40, where tiramisu or gelato is usually included.
